Harry Kane is making the Bundesliga look like a walk in the park after adding another record to his credit at Bayern Munich.

The former Tottenham talisman has already made a seamless start to life in Bavaria and led Germany's top flight with 15 goals after his first 10 league appearances. Not content with that tally, however, Kane clinched another place in the history books with a first-half brace in Saturday's clash with Heidenheim.

That double made Kane the first player to score 17 goals across the first 11 matchdays of any Bundesliga campaign. To put that feat into context, Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug shared the league's Golden Boot last season after scoring 16 goals apiece across the campaign.

Robert Lewandowski – who joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 – previously broke the record when he netted 16 times across the first 11 games of the 2019/20 campaign. German legend Gerd Muller held the former accolade for 51 years, underlining the calibre of player required to mount such statistics at the start of a season.

But Kane, 30, overtook those elite ranks at the Allianz Arena, setting Bayern en route to a result that (at least temporarily) took them above Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga summit. And the England captain now sits two clear of Stuttgart's Sehrou Guirassy in the hunt for the Golden Boot.

It's just as well Thomas Tuchel's new talisman showed such initiative given Heidenheim scored twice in three minutes to level the score at one point. However, Bayern re-asserted their dominance thanks to goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Kane previously set a new Bayern club record after netting seven times in the first five matchdays of a Bundesliga season. Only former Borussia Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland has ever scored more in the same span (nine).

A three-time Premier League Golden Boot-winner during his 14 years as a senior player at Spurs, Kane stands a much better chance of adding some team silverware to his cabinet this term. Not only are Bayern competing at the top of the Bundesliga, but they also sit eight points clear at the summit of their Champions League group and are already through to the last 16.

Kane's total for the season now stands at 21 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions, closing in on his best return of 41 goals in 48 games for Tottenham in 2017/18. And with the munitions in Munich supplying him, the Three Lions star has all the tools at his disposal to keep breaking boundaries at Bayern.
