Man Utd plunged into injury chaos as two players pick up issues in first half

Manchester United have been plunged into an injury crisis ahead of their trip to Liverpool over the weekend.

Erik ten Hag watched both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw limp off during their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Maguire, who was named as the Premier League Player of the Month, was the first to go when he was replaced by Johnny Evans.

Shaw made it through to the half-time whistle, but he didn't come out of dressing room for the second-half and was replaced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. And United could now face a problem for their trip to Merseyside.

Ten Hag also looks set to be without the likes Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Amad Diallo.

There was more disappointment for the Red Devils on Tuesday evening as they failed to beat Bayern on home turf. Kingsley Coman's goal in the second-half was enough to separate the two sides as Bayern marched into the knockout rounds.

However, a win for United wouldn't have been enough on the evening as FC Copenhagen beat Galatasaray in Denmark to qualify for the knockout rounds.

United finished rock bottom of the group, and Ten Hag's will now head into the New Year without any European football to look forward towards.
