Verstappen issues Hamilton win drought verdict as Wolff gives resignation update

With the winter break now underway, drivers are wrapping up their media and sponsor duties and jetting away across the world for their well-deserved holidays. Work at the factories, however, continues.

Red Bull dominated the 2023 season, recording 21 Grand Prix victories from a possible 22 as Max Verstappen romped to a third successive Drivers’ Championship crown in record-breaking fashion.

However, McLaren did show signs of being able to challenge the reigning champions during the second half of the season, while Mercedes and Ferrari will be hard at work as they try to close the gap to their long-standing rivals ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Verstappen comments on Hamilton win drought

Max Verstappen has given some advice to Lewis Hamilton as the Brit looks to end a two-year win drought next season.

Asked about the streak by Blick, Verstappen responded: “I did it too. No, wait. That’s not true. I was able to get a win every now and then.

“Well, periods like this can happen, but I prefer not to think about it. Because they eat up the necessary energies in you.”

The Dutchman then touched on the key to his recent success, explaining: “I’m paying close attention to what’s going on behind the scenes.

“The slightest background noise or problem must be stopped. There’s no other way for a community of interests as large as Red Bull to function.”
