FIA release F1 cost cap statement with 2022 results after Horner accusations

The FIA have revealed the findings of their investigation into the 2022 F1 cost cap. The governing body announced that all ten teams have complied with the financial restrictions placed upon them.

This counters the allegations made by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, who suggested earlier this year that: “A danger for 2022 is that there could be six teams in breach of the cap,

“Energy prices have been exponential, but thankfully we’ve been protected from that. But there is that chance that several teams, many of which have stated it during F1 commission meetings, will break the cap this year.”

The team’s chief advisor Helmut Marko went one further, predicting how many teams would breach the regulations. He added: “I think the current status is that six teams are over it.”
