Fans cringe at Bruce Buffer introducing F1 drivers at garish Las Vegas GP

Formula One fans on social media have described legendary announcer Bruce Buffer's driver introductions at the Las Vegas Grand Prix as 'cringe'.

F1 headed stateside this week for the penultimate race of the 2023 season, with who else but Red Bull's Max Verstappen coming out on top at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. The Dutchman wrapped up his third F1 Drivers Championship title weeks ago, and was heard singing "Viva Las Vegas" over the team radio following his win.

However, shockingly, Verstappen's singing was not even close to the cringiest moment of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with that honour going to legendary announcer Bruce Buffer.

Prior to the race, Buffer introduced Verstappen's team-mate Sergio Perez on the asphalt in Las Vegas, screaming out: "Driving for reigning champion Red Bull, he's a multiple race winner from Mexico, it's Sergio 'Checo' Perez."

But after his introduction, with Perez stood right next to him, Buffer opted to ignore the Mexican racer, who looked both bemused and bewildered at what had unfolded in front of him after the announcer had screamed his name in his face.
