Birmingham City boss Wayne Rooney has claimed he 'never had a relationship' with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The pair, who played together for England, were caught in the crossfire of the Wagatha Christie saga, which saw Rooney's wife, Coleen Rooney publicly out Vardy's wife, Rebekah Vardy, for leaking private stories about her to the press.

A high profiled libel case ensued, with Mrs Vardy rejecting the claims, only for the High Court to rule in Rooney's favour last year. And come Monday, Rooney and Vardy's Championship sides will go up against each other when Birmingham host the Foxes at St Andrew's, re-igniting the drama.
