Listen to the debate on It&#8217;s All Kicking Off\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has ruled out striker Lyle Foster from going to the Africa Cup of Nations as he continues to work on his mental health.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa have named Foster in their provisional 50-man squad for AFCON which starts in Ivory Coast on January 13.<\/p>\n<p>But Kompany said on Thursday the 23-year-old would not be able to take part in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Foster\u2019s last Premier League appearance for Burnley was on October 21 and it was revealed the following month he\u2019d be taking an indefinite break from football to have specialist treatment for his mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Unfortunately, he is not in a position where he can go with the national team. We follow him closely, he still has treatment, but his progress is what you\u2019d want it to be in terms of mental health,\u2019 added Kompany.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Physically he is OK. We are progressing into the next phase. I am not able to put a timescale on it. He is in a good place and we have made progress.
