Liverpool are set to follow in the footsteps of Chelsea as Jurgen Klopp is preparing to rip up Fabio Carvalho’s loan deal with RB Leipzig and bring the winger back to Anfield. Carvalho joined the German side on a season-long loan in the summer but has been starved of game time at the Red Bull Arena.

Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham in the summer of 2022 and scored three goals in 21 appearances during his maiden campaign on Merseyside. However, the Reds shipped the 21-year-old off to Leipzig ahead of the current campaign to help him “continue his development and gain more experience.”

Carvalho has struggled to make an impact in Germany and has started just one Bundesliga match all season. He has featured just twice in the Champions League as a substitute and had mustered just 257 minutes of football in all competitions ahead of his team’s European clash with Young Boys on Wednesday evening.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have opened talks with Leipzig to take the young star back to England in January due to his insufficient game time. The Reds are not happy with the way the loan has turned out and will make their final decision over the player’s future soon.

Santos joined Nottingham Forest on loan in the summer but has been handed just seven minutes of Premier League football by Steve Cooper, while Moreira has started just three Ligue 1 matches since completing a temporary switch to Lyon on transfer deadline day.

Last month, Romano reported that the Blues are prepared to recall Santos from Forest if there are no changes to his lack of action, while the Evening Standard claimed that Moreira was a prime candidate for having his loan cancelled.
