I am a big believer in giving a manager time, I am not a believer in sacking managers left, right and centre,&#8217; Mikel said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Are we just going to sit on the fence and say we are still in a rebuilding process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There is no time for that. We need to start winning games. When I look at at the team, it comes down to a lack of leaders.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018In the game against Everton, I looked around the pitch, there is not one single leader.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There is no-one to come out on the pitch to go at your colleagues and say, \u2018Wake up, what are you doing?\u2019, come to you and scream at you \u2013 this is what we had before.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The likes of Didier Drogba, John Terry and Frank Lampard, when you are having a s*** game, these guys would make you wake up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I look all around the pitch and I\u00a0look at the manager, I didn\u2019t see him scream at one of the players to say, &#8220;Do your f***ing job, wake up, make sure you run around and make sure we win the game&#8221;.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/12\/08\/78858381-12853761-image-a-12_1702370508039.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>John Obi Mikel expressed concern Chelsea do not have a single leader in the current squad<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/12\/08\/78858995-12853761-image-m-25_1702371594724.jpg\" height=\"511\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mikel believes Chelsea are lacking strong leadership figures like John Terry in the current side<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/12\/08\/78858553-12853761-image-a-15_1702370839355.jpg\" height=\"397\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Marc Cucurella was one of the squad claimed to not be up to Chelsea standards by Mikel<\/p>\n<p>Mikel also expressed concern over the continued fitness issues suffered by captain Reece James, who limped off in the first half at Goodison Park with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n<p>The former midfielder, who was part of Chelsea&#8217;s Champions League winning squad in 2011, insisted the club need to have their captain fit and noted Terry&#8217;s availability for the club even when he was nursing issues.<\/p>\n<p>Mikel gave a stark assessment over the state of the Chelsea squad, as he claimed Marc Cucurella, Benoit Badiashile and\u00a0Axel Disasi were among players who started at Everton that are &#8216;not up to standard&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed concerns over &#8216;hit and miss&#8217; goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and said\u00a0\u00a388.5m signing\u00a0Mykhailo Mudryk had a stinker against the Toffees.<\/p>\n<p>Mikel added that more should be expected of \u00a3222m midfield pairing Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, while he suggested that Conor\u00a0Gallagher would have had &#8216;no chance&#8217;
