Manchester United fans truly turned on Erik ten Hag after their horrific defeat to Bournemouth.

The Red Devils looked to have turned a corner after they overcame Chelsea 2-1 in their previous match. Ten Hag, 53, was even awarded the Premier League manager of the month award after United overcame Fulham, Luton Town and Everton.

However, any positivity was blown away by Andoni Iraola's ruthless Cherries, who secured a sensational 3-0 victory. After United suffered their seventh Premier League defeat of the campaign, United fans on social media demanded the club to sack Ten Hag.

“It’s over. Sad, and heart broken. On top of all these, is a bad selection from Ten Hag. He ain’t no different from coaches that we’ve sacked. Just sack Ten Hag," one fan wrote.

"Sack Ten Hag and sell Onana this can’t be happening," another tweeted, also spitting some venom at Andre Onana.

A third said: "Sack Ten Hag now before it's late. It's criminal for Bournemouth to win in Old Trafford," before an equally angry Red tweeted: “Ten Hag must go. He’s an embarrassment.”

Their latest embarrassment comes a few days after Daily Star Sport reported that the United manager had lost half of the dressing room.

This resulted in the United manager and the club's press officers banning Daily Star Sport from their press conference on Tuesday.

At Old Trafford, United suffered the worst possible start when Dominic Solanke opened the scoring after only five minutes.

In the second half, things got even worse as Phillip Billing rose above Luke Shaw to head home a second, before Marcos Senesi's wonderful header made the scoreline embarrassing for the Red Devils.

As United fans began to exit Old Trafford in their droves, Bournemouth thought they had added a fourth through Luis Sinisterra, but the goal was disallowed by VAR.

The Reds are currently residing in sixth position, three points away from Manchester City, who play Luton Town in their game in hand.

United also look set to be knocked out of the Champions League, as they have to beat Bayern Munich and hope Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen draw.
