A South Korean international has been accused of illegally filming a sex tape with his ex-partner.

Norwich City forward Hwang Ui-jo, 31, who joined the Canaries on loan from Premier League side Nottingham Forest at the start of the season, is currently the subject of a police investigation following accusations he filmed a sexual encounter with his ex-partner without consent and shared the footage on social media. Hwang denies the allegations.

He has been suspended from international duty, pending the outcome of a police inquiry, by the Korea Football Association (KFA) ethic's committee.

He recently found the back of the net in Norwich's recent 3-2 away loss to Watford. It's understood the East Anglian side are aware of the allegations and are currently monitoring developments.

Hwang was expected to be included in Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for the Asian Cup in January, having recently scored in their 5-0 win over Singapore. However, his current suspension with the international team has cast major doubt over his inclusion.

"We have decided not to select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team until a clear conclusion is reached on the facts," the KFA committee recently said in a statement. Klinsmann also said: "I fully understand the current situation and will respect the decision of the Korea Football Association."

Head of the KFA ethics committee Lee Youn-nam, also told reporters their international players are expected to conduct themselves "with a high degree of morality and responsibility."

He added: "Considering the fact that the player is being investigated as a suspect, it is difficult for him to carry out normal national team activities.

"Football fans have high expectations for the national team, (so) we have deemed it inappropriate to select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team." Hwang has continually denied the allegations against him.

He joined Norwich in the summer, one year after joining Forest from French side Bordeaux. While he has made 13 Championship appearances for Norwich, contributing three goals and one assist, he is yet to make an appearance for Steve Cooper's top-flight side.
