The British billionaire businessman is set to complete a 25-per-cent buy-in at Old Trafford and take a significant chunk of sporting control away from the Glazers.<\/p>\n<p>United&#8217;s current owners have become hugely unpopular since acquiring the club in 2005. But a wave of fan protests didn&#8217;t stop them sticking around, with Glazer brothers Joel and Avram poised to remain prominent figures in the club&#8217;s boardroom.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Sir Jim&#8217;s arrival marking the biggest change to the Glazers&#8217; stewardship since they landed at Old Trafford, Jordan believes that the share purchase will not financially transform the club, which is a worrying prospect for United fans to digest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The idea that Ratcliffe will be some kind of saviour riding in to deliver everything supporters have been crying out for is for the birds, as is the idea he is the financial light to the Glazers dark,&#8221; he wrote in The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> Don&#8217;t miss&#8230; <\/strong> <strong>Benni McCarthy&#8217;s role at Man Utd &#8216;in jeopardy&#8217; and coach could be given new job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/67\/590x\/secondary\/Sir-Jim-Ratcliffe-Simon-Jordan-5091962.jpg?r=1701283260384\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Let\u2019s see if the money he buys the shares with is actually from his own pocket and if it finds its way into United\u2019s coffers rather than the hands of the existing shareholders \u2013 predominately the Glazers \u2013 with this amazing act of philanthropy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What he will bring is a fresh set of eyes and he could bring some much-needed coherency to the decision-making process of buying and selling players and employing managers.
