Kylian Mbappe was left frustrated by PSG’s Champions League\u00a0draw with Newcastle after scoring the controversial 98th-minute penalty which earned a point.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Parisian’s were behind for most of the contest on Tuesday thanks to Alexander Isak’s goal, which lifted the Magpies off the bottom of Group F.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, with only minutes remaining in added time, the Ligue 1 champions were awarded a spot-kick after Ousmane Dembele’s cross deflected off Tino Livramento’s chest and then onto his elbow.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Despite initially waving away the home side’s desperate protests, referee\u00a0Szymon Marciniak gave the penalty after reviewing the incident at the pitchside monitor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mbappe calmly stepped up and grabbed the point that ensures PSG will go into the final matchday with their destiny still in their own hands.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nick Pope pulled off a string of quality saves that preserved Newcastle’s lead going into the final minutes of the tie<\/p>\n
Still, the 24-year-old was not satisfied by the late leveller and reckoned his side created more than enough chances to win the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘It\u2019s frustrating because we dominated from start to finish.’ He said post-match. ‘They have nothing. We knew it was their game to have nothing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘We needed to finish our moves better. We need to work harder in front of goal in games like this.<\/p>\n
‘We need to kill them off. We had too many clear chances and we should have easily won the match.’<\/p>\n
The home side were camped in Newcastle’s half for most of the second period and posted a scarcely believable xG of 4.5 compared to the Magpies’ 1.3. When they weren’t outright missing chances, PSG were met with an inspired Nick Pope, who produced a string of quality saves.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Luis Enrique’s side travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund, who have already secured their qualification, in their final match in the group.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Magpies host AC Milan where they will need a win to stand any chance of progressing, while also hoping the Bundesliga side can do them a favour.\u00a0<\/p>\n
