UFC fighter Tony Ferguson\u00a0has been sentenced to a year of probation after allegedly crashing his truck into two parked cars in Los Angeles in May.<\/p>\n
Ferguson’s truck flipped over outside a Hollywood nightclub just before 2:00am on May 7 and was left on its side, though nobody was hurt.<\/p>\n
He was charged with driving under the influence in June but decided to plead not guilty.<\/p>\n
Now, according to TMZ, he struck a deal with prosecutors on November 20 that saw him plead no contest to one misdemeanor count of reckless driving upon a highway.<\/p>\n
In exchange, his DUI charge was dismissed and he was sentenced to one year of probation.<\/p>\n

They also claimed he reeked of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ferguson, the former interim lightweight champion, can now refocus on his return to the octagon.<\/p>\n
He has not fought since losing by technical submission to Bobby Green at UFC 291 in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old is set to face British fighter Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296 on December 16.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Ferguson’s wife, Christina, filed a restraining order against him, alleging ‘uncharacteristic behavior’ such as intense paranoia, sleep deprivation and that he tore the fireplace at their home.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She added that the UFC fighter believed a tracking chip was inserted into his leg during reconstructive knee surgery, though she didn’t allege physical abuse and mainly filed the restraining order so that her husband could better his mental health.<\/p>\n
In April, Ferguson’s wife withdrew the order.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ferguson started his mixed martial arts career in 2008 and has been with the UFC since winning the Ultimate Fight 13 against Ramsey Nijem in 2011.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He won 25 of his 33 fights — 12 of them by knockout, eight by submission, and five by decision.<\/p>\n
