Harry Kane broke another two records in scoring Bayern Munich’s opening goal against Koln on Friday night.

The England forward netted his 18th league goal of the season since his mega-money move to Germany from Tottenham in the summer as he extended his lead at the top of the Bundesliga goal scoring charts.

The strike was a gift, and the No 9 may not score an easier goal this season. Former Stoke man Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting did the hard work, forcing a Koln defender to clear off the line from his effort.

But the clearance only went as far as Kane, who accepted the offer of slotting in from a matter of yards to score once again for Bayern Munich.

In doing so he surpassed the records set by both Jadon Sancho and Kevin Keegan in scoring the most goals by an Englishman in the Bundesliga before the season even entered December.

Harry Kane broke another record when he scored for Bayern Munich against Koln on Friday

Kane scored his 18th goal of the season to go past Kevin Keegan and Jadon Sancho’s Bundesliga season totals

Kane’s goal also meant he became the first ever player to score 18 goals in the first 12 games of a Bundesliga season.

Sancho equalled Keegan’s record in the 2019/20 season, perhaps his best campaign as a Borussia Dortmund player before his move to Manchester United in 2021.

Keegan, meanwhile, netted 17 goals in the 1978/79 season while playing for Hamburger SV.
