Trent Alexander-Arnold has insisted that Liverpool can win the league title this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The England international believes his team’s summer signings combined with a heightened determination has the perfect groundwork for a title challenge.<\/p>\n
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit in second place just one point behind league leaders Man City as they face each other on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The full-back told the Guardian: ‘Our aim as a team is to win the league and that\u2019s the aim again this season.<\/p>\n
‘Last season wasn\u2019t good enough. We were nowhere near good enough to get anywhere near that last year and that\u2019s where we needed to put it right this year.<\/p>\n

‘We brought new players in; it was about adapting as quick as possible and making sure we laid a good foundation at the start of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘We are in a really strong position and results- and form-wise we are doing enough to stay as close as possible to the top of the table.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘The league isn\u2019t won yet, there are still a lot of games to play, but so far we\u2019ve performed in a way that is how you would expect someone who can win the league to perform and if we carry this on we should be in and around it come May.’<\/p>\n
The Reds last won a league title in the 2019-20 season and since then, City have won three in a row.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This summer, Liverpool added\u00a0Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig to their squad for \u00a360million as well as\u00a0Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for \u00a335m.<\/p>\n
They also\u00a0signed Bayern Munich midfielder\u00a0Ryan Gravenberch for \u00a334m and\u00a0Wataru Endo from Stuggart for \u00a317m.<\/p>\n
