Jurgen Klopp accidentally left a Sky Sports reporter squirming for air as he welcomed him back to Liverpool's training ground after the international break.

Vinny O'Connor and Klopp shared a laugh and a joke as Klopp placed him in a headlock before launching a friendly jab to the ribs joking: "Thank you for that 12:30!" The Reds will welcome back the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime in the early slot against Manchester City.

And Klopp was clearly not too happy with the broadcasting demands that has seen the fixture pushed forward. One wrestling fan tweeted: "Jurgen got better working punches than most of the roster!"

"He’s the greatest manager in every sense," a second joked. While a third responded: "Don't let him bully you Vinny!"

"The early kick off is really personal to him," a fourth said. And another added: "Is Klopp punching journalists now?"

Liverpool and City will be involved in a top-of-the table clash on Saturday lunchtime, where a win could see Klopp's side return to the summit of the Premier League for the first time since the 21/22 season. The Reds have experienced something of a resurgence this season, after a disappointing campaign last time out.

City are currently the pace setters, but they could be without star man Erling Haaland on Saturday. Haaland hobbled off for Norway over the international break – before missing their clash with Scotland.

Rodri is also a doubt for Pep Guardiola, with City's key central midfielder missing the first game of Spain's international break, but he did manage 86 minutes vs Georgia.
