{"id":300144,"date":"2023-11-22T12:24:44","date_gmt":"2023-11-22T12:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=300144"},"modified":"2023-11-22T12:24:44","modified_gmt":"2023-11-22T12:24:44","slug":"sir-alex-breaks-his-silence-on-ratcliffes-1-3bn-united-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/sir-alex-breaks-his-silence-on-ratcliffes-1-3bn-united-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"Sir Alex breaks his silence on Ratcliffe&apos;s \u00a31.3bn United investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Sir Alex Ferguson breaks his silence on Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his imminent \u00a31.3bn investment at Man United&#8230; with the British billionaire set to seal his 25% stake at Old Trafford<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sir Jim Ratcliffe is waiting to seal his \u00a31.3billion move for a 25 per cent stake<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ahead of his investment, Sir Alex Ferguson has given his thoughts on the move<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s the world against Everton \u2013 it can galvanise the players to stay up &#8211; IAKO<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sir Alex Ferguson reveals he is feeling &#8216;optimistic&#8217; about Sir Jim Ratcliffe&#8217;s impending investment at Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>The British billionaire is still waiting to formalise a \u00a31.3billion deal with the Glazer family for a 25 per cent stake.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There had been growing expectation that his deal would finally be approved and confirmed by United during the November international break, but the date now looks to have been pushed back.<\/p>\n<p>Once his investment has been confirmed,\u00a0Ratcliffe will assume control of football operations and will look to stamp his authority on the club, making a raft of changes and will seek the advice of United&#8217;s legendary manager Ferguson.<\/p>\n<p>But ahead of Ratcliffe&#8217;s imminent arrival, Ferguson was asked for his thoughts on Ratcliffe and his feeling on the takeover.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/22\/11\/78105923-12779407-Sir_Alex_Ferguson_pictured_has_given_his_thoughts_on_Sir_Jim_Rat-m-8_1700653096580.jpg\" height=\"390\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Sir Alex Ferguson (pictured) has given his thoughts on Sir Jim Ratcliffe&#8217;s investment at United<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/22\/11\/78105965-12779407-image-a-1_1700652977701.jpg\" height=\"413\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe is waiting to confirm his minority stake, worth \u00a31.3billion, in Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview courtesy of Gambling Zone, Ferguson said: &#8216;I am still a director of the club and I know Jim [Ratcliffe] well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We shall have to see what he does but I am optimistic.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, it was reported that\u00a0Ratcliffe will ask Ferguson, 81, for advice and guidance as he plots an extensive overhaul of the football side.<\/p>\n<p>This could boost Dougie Freedman&#8217;s chances becoming United&#8217;s new sporting director\u00a0amid stiff competition.<\/p>\n<p>The Scot, who currently fulfils a similar role at Crystal Palace, is a long-standing friend and ally of compatriot Ferguson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Freedman was formerly a neighbour of Ferguson in Cheshire before he took up his post at Palace in 2017.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/22\/11\/78105959-12779407-image-a-4_1700653039908.jpg\" height=\"465\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ferguson is &#8216;optimistic&#8217; that Ratcliffe&#8217;s involvement at Old Trafford will be a positive one\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u00a0Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish heaped praise on Freedman, but insisted there have been no talks with Manchester United over a potential departure.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You would have to get into the minds of those people (Manchester United decision makers) wouldn&#8217;t you,&#8217; he told the Rest is Football.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I certainly don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s been any conversations. It&#8217;s flattering for the club.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You guys live in the world where 50 per cent of the stories in the media are true. 50 per cent are not.
