Undefeated Tommy Fury may have his next bout in his sights already after it was revealed the 10-0 fighter has discussed a potential clash with boxing legend Roy Jones Jr.

A month has passed since Fury, 24, extended his perfect record with a unanimous-decision win over KSI in his native Manchester. And John Fury has now suggested a date with former four-weight world champion Jones Jr could be next on the agenda for 'TNT'.

'Superman' made his professional return to the ring this past April when he fought former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis to a decision defeat. And that appears to have lit a fire under the 54-year-old phenomenon, who holds a 66-10 pro boxing record.

“We’re speaking to Roy Jones Jr; we can do something with him," Fury Sr told Free Bets UK. "I’m giving it some thought at the time of speaking. Roy Jones Jr is a great guy. He’s a lovely fella, a stand-up man and a Hall of Fame great.”

Jones Jr previously retired from the professional sport in 2018 but made an exhibition appearance against Mike Tyson two years later. And a potential clash against 'TNT' could come under similar conditions after the two parties met during Tyson Fury's win over Francis Ngannou last month.

“Yeah, maybe it is an exhibition or something, whatever he wants to do," added Fury Sr when asked for further details on a clash between the boxing great and son Tommy. "We’ve not really spoken in great detail, but he did say over in Saudi ‘Let’s do something’ and we’re all ears. We just need to sit down and see what is best for Tommy and Roy Jones Jr.”

Fury Jr has taken a hiatus from fighting the usual route in boxing after accepting bouts against YouTubers Jake Paul and KSI in his last two fights. Jones Jr would represent a return to more learned opposition, though at 54, the former undisputed light heavyweight champion shouldn't be able to keep pace with a rival 30 years his junior.

TNT was barely two months old when Jones Jr beat Reggie Johnson in June 1999 to complete the set of belts at light heavyweight. By the time he was Fury's age, Jones Jr had already defeated Bernard Hopkins to claim his first world title as a middleweight.

It would be another chance for Fury to earn a substantial payday rather than climb the rankings with one of the established boxing bodies. Not that many fans will be complaining, however, as the youngest member of the Fury fight clan eyes another odd-ball bout.
