England fans have been left fuming after coming out empty handed from the first batch of Euro 2024 tickets – with some fearing the influence of bots.

UEFA released 1.2million tickets in the first batch of sales for fans with the result of the lottery released on Wednesday. Resale sites have began selling huge numbers with the vast majority of fans unsuccessful.

Many supporters had requested more than 50 tickets and ended up with none – leading to a furious reaction on social media despite I reporting that UEFA had more than 20 million 'genuine' requests.

EURO 2024: England's Euro 2024 kit leaked and fans think it's a big throwback to Italia 90

One fan said on X: "Three of us who put we were England fans on the application got nothing. The one who put he was a fan of another country was successful. Did anybody who put they were an England fan get any of the tickets they applied for?"

A second pointed out: "Something seems off to me with this Euro 2024 tickets ballot. This time you didn't have to put your passport number, which could have made it easier for bots. 2. They've still not emailed everyone. 3. A lot of people from the UK missed out."

A third posted: "The results seem quite dodgy, I've seen about 350 tickets applied for, with literally 12 successful (and 8 of those were £150 tickets) I expected chances to be low, but not close to how bad it's been."

A fourth fuming fan said: "Last night, one resale site was offering 133 tickets for a group game at grossly inflated prices. IT’S AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE."

Fans had applied for random group games hoping to see England in action with the draw not taking place until the final tournament draw on December 2. Others applied for knockout round tickets with the hope that Gareth Southgate's men will make it deep into the competition having been runners-up last time out.
