Hamilton certain Red Bull's fate is sealed after what F1 rival Verstappen did

It is race week for the penultimate time this season, and drivers are hoping to end 2023 on a high with a victory in Las Vegas. In what is expected to be a drama-packed Grand Prix, pressure is mounting on certain individuals to showcase what they are capable of to retain their spot on the grid.

Red Bull are hoping to land their 20th victory of the season and Max Verstappen is a worthy favourite to secure the win. However, McLaren are keen to spring a surprise and may feel that they had the edge due to their superior tyre warm-up and the cold track temperatures anticipated.

Lando Norris is full of hope ahead of the race, and he has issued a strong warning to Verstappen ahead of the 2024 season – fuelled by what has been a promising season for the 24-year-old.

Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have very little reason to be optimistic following their poor performances in Brazil last time out, though the English pair are more than capable of mounting a challenge if returning to form.

Norris reveals 2024 title aspirations

Lando Norris has revealed that he is aiming for Drivers’ Championship success next year and feels that he can rival Max Verstappen for next year’s title.

“We know we still have plenty more things to come next year, so I’m excited,” said the Brit.

“Having that as a thought, it’s quite a far away thought, I don’t want to think of that just now. There’s no point thinking of it until next year, but I’ll be optimistic and I believe we can do it as a team.”

Formula One issue apology

The CEO of Formula One’s owners Liberty Media, Greg Maffei, has issued a statement of apology for the disruption caused in Las Vegas ahead of this weekend’s race.

The Grand Prix is set to run through the Strip in the city centre, and work has been ongoing for almost nine months to ensure that the scene is set for a successful race – and preparation has amped up in recent days, leading locals to grow increasingly frustrated.

Speaking about the disruption, Maffei said: “I want to apologise to all the Las Vegas residents and we appreciate that they have their forbearance and their willingness to tolerate us.

“We’re going to bring something like $1.7bn of revenue to the area. So it’s not just for the benefit of fans who want to view. We hope this is a great economic benefit in Las Vegas. We hope this is the most difficult year with all the construction that went on and things will be easier in the future.”
