Disgraced American heavyweight Jarrell Miller is reportedly in talks to be added to a money-spinning Saudi boxing bill on December 23 expected to be joint-headlined by Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. AJ has unfinished business with his forgotten foe after their bout was cancelled in 2019 due to Miller failing a pre-fight drug test.

According to esteemed boxing journalist Dan Rafael, a fight between Miller and former WBA “regular” titlist Daniel Dubois is in the works for next month. Meanwhile, Joshua vs Otto Wallin and Wilder vs Joseph Parker are expected to top the bill in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Providing all of the deals get done Joshua and Miller will come face-to-face for the first time since their much-anticipated contest collapsed four years ago. While the ship seems to have sailed for a re-booking Miller’s promoter Dmitriy Salita revealed to Express Sport in January that his client is still intent on facing AJ.

“I received a phone call from Jarrell Miller last week, he said ‘Dmitriy I’ll take short money, tell Joshua I want to fight, and I’ll take short money,” said Salita. “So, if Jarrell can work his way back up to that level, I believe it will be interesting to see him in those elite fights as well.”

However, Joshua’s team are less keen on the idea. Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn insists he will never make a fight between Joshua and Miller again after what happened last time while the situation is further complicated by the fact that Hearn sought legal action against the drug cheat in 2022.

The British promoter claimed at the time that Miller still owed him money that was paid to the American as an advance ahead of his scheduled bout with Joshua. Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show in July of last year, he said: “We paid him an advance but the clause in the contract which is you failing a drug test means you repay that advance. That will be dealt with legally in due time, but I like Jarrell. I was very fond of him and that’s why I fought so hard to not just give him a payday, it was a f****** monster payday to fight Joshua.
