Dover Athletic defender\u00a0Peter Ojemen suffered a serious head injury during his side’s 2-0 defeat away to Yeovil Town.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The incident occured in the 20th minute of the National League South encounter and the 22-year-old was rushed to hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ojemen was carried off on a stretcher but was conscious after receiving treatment for nine minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hosts Yeovil went on to win the match and extend their lead at the top of the table to to six points thanks to a brace by Sonny Cox.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dover confirmed after the match Ojemen was in hospital to undergo further scans and tests before thanking the medical staff who came to his aid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Peter Ojemen is well and in hospital awaiting the relevant scans and tests,’ the post on X read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yeovil replied: ‘Everyone at Yeovil Town Football Club wishes Peter all the best during his recovery.’<\/p>\n
Fans from both clubs were also quick to wish\u00a0Ojemen well, with one writing: ‘Hope you recover quickly Peter and soon back playing . All the best from @YTFC fan’.<\/p>\n
Another said: ‘Glad he\u2019s ok. Couldn\u2019t really see what happened from where we were but never like to see a player even from the opposition down like that. Hope he has a speedy recovery’.<\/p>\n
