Pierre Gasly has stated that he would like to sit down and have a chat with Helmut Marko and Red Bull to discuss his premature departure from the team back in 2019. The Frenchman spent just 12 races in his seat before being ousted for Alex Albon.

After a promising first full season in F1 with Toro Rosso in 2018, Gasly was given a somewhat unexpected promotion to the sister team for the 2019 campaign, where he would partner up with notorious team-mate slayer and now three-time world champion Max Verstappen.

Unfortunately for Gasly, the move was nothing short of a disaster as he finished inside the top five on just two occasions and was lapped by his team-mate in Austria. After the Hungarian Grand Prix, he was demoted back to Toro Rosso with Albon taking his place.

This proved to be a turning point for the 27-year-old, who clinched his first-ever F1 podium later that year, before shocking the racing world by winning at Monza the season after. A move to Alpine came along in 2023, where Gasly has once again impressed.
