{"id":298920,"date":"2023-11-11T22:26:55","date_gmt":"2023-11-11T22:26:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=298920"},"modified":"2023-11-11T22:26:55","modified_gmt":"2023-11-11T22:26:55","slug":"exclusive-tnt-set-to-bid-for-wsl-live-rights-in-huge-boost-for-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/exclusive-tnt-set-to-bid-for-wsl-live-rights-in-huge-boost-for-game\/","title":{"rendered":"EXCLUSIVE: TNT set to bid for WSL live rights in huge boost for game"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>EXCLUSIVE: TNT Sport set to bid for live rights to the Women&#8217;s Super League to compete with current broadcasters BBC and Sky Sports &#8211; in a major boost for the women&#8217;s game<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Current deal for \u00a38million-a-year was signed in 2021 and will rise considerably<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>TNT are interested in the possible end of the 3pm blackout &#8211; and more games\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Why we should get excited about Cole Palmer &#8211; Listen here to It&#8217;s All Coming Up\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>TNT Sport are set to bid for live rights for the Women\u2019s Super League for the first time in what would be a major boost for the women\u2019s game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The current \u00a38million-a-year broadcast deal, in which\u00a0WSL matches are shared between Sky Sports and the BBC, expires at the end of the season and a bid from TNT would increase its value considerably.<\/p>\n<p>While the WSL have yet to issue its invitation to tender, Mail Sport has learned that it will feature a significant increase on number of games available from the current deal, in which Sky show 35 matches-a-season and the BBC 22.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The WSL auction is due to begin in January following the conclusion of the\u00a0Premier League\u2019s UK rights sale.
