However, neither could be named despite their recent strong form because they were absent from the extended squad required by the Asian Football Confederation a month out from FIFA World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/static.ffx.io\/images\/$zoom_0.468%2C$multiply_0.7725%2C$ratio_1.5%2C$width_756%2C$x_127%2C$y_47\/t_crop_custom\/q_86%2Cf_auto\/0928f4135e261f80abf00ebfe844ac53889ceda8\" height=\"390\" width=\"584\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Victory\u2019s Bruno Fornaroli (right) has had a hot start to the A-League Men season.<\/span><cite class=\"ojLwA\"><span>Credit: <\/span>Getty Images<\/cite><\/p>\n<p>The final squad must come from that list.<\/p>\n<p>Fornaroli is an Australian citizen, having been born in Uruguay, and his age, 36, was thought to be counting against him. But Arnold instead lamented that Fornaroli\u2019s purple patch had come too late for this qualifying window.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one is ruled out,\u201d Arnold said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe if Bruno had ended last season the way he started it, then I probably would have watched him even closer but, you know, he\u2019s had a fantastic start of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder \u2018Poppa\u2019 [Victory coach Tony Popovic], he is doing a great job, so is Daniel Arzani, but he didn\u2019t finish last season that way with [former club] Macarthur and that long off-season [June to October], it hurts those players, and it hurts [their chances of call-ups] for those windows in September, October and November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Socceroos host Bangladesh at AAMI Park on Thursday at 8pm (AEDT) and then face Palestine in Kuwait the following Tuesday (November 21). The Israel-Hamas conflict has made it impossible for Palestine to play at home.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold, who will break Frank Farina\u2019s record as longest-serving Socceroos coach, omitted veteran defender Milos Degenek and creative midfielder Ajdin Hrustic as neither are playing for their clubs, while young Portsmouth striker Kusini Yengi received his first call-up.<\/p>\n<p>Specialist penalty stopper Andrew Redmayne, known as the \u201cGrey Wiggle\u201d, was left out after a rough start to the season at Sydney FC, with emerging Charlton Athletic keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Adelaide United keeper Joe Gauci selected.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/static.ffx.io\/images\/$zoom_0.213%2C$multiply_0.7725%2C$ratio_1.5%2C$width_756%2C$x_0%2C$y_0\/t_crop_custom\/q_86%2Cf_auto\/063d984bc3ee856c32bb9b37233ea97f8681282c\" height=\"390\" width=\"584\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Kusini Yengi (centre) has been called up by the Socceroos.<\/span><cite class=\"ojLwA\"><span>Credit: <\/span>Getty Images<\/cite><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinally, we can see Gauci play again as the A-League has started \u2013 I\u2019ve seen three rounds,\u201d Arnold said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want you to understand I had to send out my long list two days after our England game [on October 14] so the A-League hadn\u2019t started, there are players not in the squad that could probably feel a little hard done by.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Arnold refused to rule out a recall for Redmayne, although Gauci and Maynard-Brewer will make that tough if they keep up their form.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know \u2018Redders\u2019 well and he is 34, 35 years of age but he has shown that when you need him for a tournament he does well,\u201d Arnold said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking at not, just the next six months, but the next four years as well.
