Liverpool have reportedly been told to stump up £30million to sign Andre Trindade in the January window with Fluminense hoping interest from Fulham and Arsenal can spark a bidding war. Jurgen Klopp oversaw nearly a complete overhaul of his midfield unit in the summer with Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jame Milner all leaving the club.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo were signed in their place. But the Reds clearly wanted to bring in one more defensive-minded midfielder with Fluminense star Andre seen as their top priority.

The Reds tested Fluminense’s resolve with a £26m bid, but that was immediately rejected. The Brazilian side wanted to keep Andre while they were still competing in the Copa Libertadores.

And the midfielder ended up playing a crucial role in helping Fluminense win the competition for the first time in the club’s history. The Brazilian league season will finish next month, leaving the door open for Andre to seek pastures new in January.

Liverpool are seen as the frontrunners given their interest from the summer window. However, Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte claim Fulham and Arsenal also sent representatives to watch Andre in action in the Copa Libertadores final.

Liverpool representatives were also said to be there with the Premier League trio seemingly making interest clear. Fluminense will hope the interest from all three Premier League clubs will bump up the price as they seek a fee in the region of £30m.
