Manchester United fans battled with the error messages of Discovery+ that left them unable to watch the beginning of their clash against Fulham.

The Premier League giants kicked off on Saturday (November 4) afternoon in their trip to Craven Cottage but viewers from home were plagued with the issues of the streaming service when trying to watch the game. Fans let their frustration know on social media with one X user pleading for the return of BT Sport as they wrote: "Discovery plus is awful bring back bt sport it never works".

Another fan commented: "Discovery Plus is such a load of bollocks, been getting lags/error messages the whole time I've been trying to get the game on" while a third lamented how much money fans have to pay to watch football on a faulty app as they said: "Bloody @discoveryplus! Paying all that money to watch the football, constantly telling me to restart the app! Jesus!"

Fans of the Red Devils may be grateful they weren't able to tune in to the beginning of the match as Scott McTominay's opener was controversially ruled out by VAR. The club's top scorer thought he scored a fourth Premier League goal this season after tapping in from close range but Harry Maguire was deemed to be marginally offside when the ball was whipped into the box.

While the former United captain didn't come into contact with the ball, he made an attempt as Alejandro Garnacho was able to lay the ball across the box for McTominay to fire home.

The decision to disallow the goal was yet another disappointing moment in a horrid season for the 13-time Premier League champions. The club has already suffered eight defeats in all competitions as mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag continues to build up.

Despite some fans who've suggested it may be time for the Dutchman to depart Old Trafford, McTominay publicly backed his manager as he sympathised with fans having to endure watching the team consistently struggle. "My thoughts are with the fans because we’re not playing well and it’s difficult for them," the 26-year-old said.

"The fans want to see results and performances and to see the players smiling and happy, he added. "It’s not happening at the moment, but I’m 100 per cent sure the manager can put that into practice and it can come off."
