Emma Raducanu will be hoping for better fortune on the court in 2024 – and in turn help her bank balance after a disappointing year that was bettered by a few surprise names. Raducanu will want to put the 2023 season quickly behind her after undergoing surgery on both her wrists as well as her ankle at the beginning of May.

But those injury issues ultimately hampered her performances for several months prior to that as the Brit suffered early exits in multiple tournaments. She ended up competing in just 10 matches before choosing to undergo surgery, losing five of them.

Her best performance came at Indian Wells, where she reached the round-of-16 before losing to Iga Swiatek. That result gave Raducanu her biggest prize money award at a non-major in nearly a year.

But that still wasn’t enough to give push her up the rankings on the WTA Tour as well as dropping further down the money leaders list. As of October 22, Raducanu was ranked 176th on the list for prize money won on the WTA this season.

From the five tournaments she entered, Raducanu ended up taking home a moderate £189,000. That puts her behind compatriots Harriet Dart, Jodie Burrage and Heather Watson.

But that’s also less than Caroline Wozniacki, who only came out of retirement this summer to make her comeback in Montreal. Wozniacki has only played in three events this year, but earned most of her prize money at the US Open where she made a surprise run to the round-of-16 before losing to Coco Gauff.
