Laura Woods has been awarded Presenter of the Year by Broadcast Sport after being recognised for her work covering women’s international matches.<\/p>\n
Woods has enjoyed another successful year in sports broadcasting, whether it be the NFL, boxing, or, most commonly football, working with the likes of DAZN, ITV and TNT Sports.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old was also recognised for her role at ITV covering both FIFA men’s and women’s World Cup finals and the FA Cup.<\/p>\n
She beat the likes of colleagues Mark Pougatch, who is the face of men’s international games on ITV in both football and rugby, and Ed Chamberlain, the lead presenter of ITV’s racing coverage, to the award.<\/p>\n
She thanked the ITV production team upon winning the award and shared snaps of the night on her Instagram account.<\/p>\n

Woods won the Broadcaster of the Year award at the Broadcast Sport Awards<\/p>\n

Woods said said: ‘For a presenter to win an award like this, they need a safe and encouraging environment to flourish in and that for me has been ITV.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘So I’d like to thank the amazing production team we have for making every day so much fun and for putting their hearts and souls into their work behind the scenes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I’m so grateful to be a part of this family. This award means the world to me.’<\/p>\n
ITV were also nominated for Sports Broadcaster of the Year and Sports Content of the Year for its FIFA World Cup 2022 coverage, with Seb Hutchinson nominated for Sports Commentator of the Year and Roy Keane Pundit of the Year, alongside NFL panelists Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora<\/p>\n
ITV shows Soccer Aid and Goodwood Revival were also nominated in the Sport Entertainment Programme of the Year category.<\/p>\n

Woods’ work covering the women’s World Cup earlier this year was cited following her win<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She beat the likes of colleague Mark Pougatch (pictured), who fronts men’s football coverage on the channel, to the award<\/p>\n
Woods had also become synonymous with TalkSport’s breakfast show, but stepped back from the channel to front TNT’s football coverage following their rebranding from BT Sport.<\/p>\n
The presenter has been front and centre of their Champions League shows alongside the likes of Joe Cole and Glenn Hoddle.<\/p>\n
She will be covering Sheppey’s FA Cup game against Walsall in the first round of the FA Cup First Round on Friday night on ITV4 before more Champions League action midweek.<\/p>\n
Woods has worked alongside the likes of\u00a0Eni Aluko, Karen Carney and Ian Wright covering England’s World Cup journey in Australia and New Zealand as Sarina Wiegman’s side lost to Spain in the final.<\/p>\n
