{"id":297945,"date":"2023-11-02T14:24:55","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T14:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=297945"},"modified":"2023-11-02T14:24:55","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T14:24:55","slug":"former-man-united-star-rafael-rips-into-carlos-tevez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/former-man-united-star-rafael-rips-into-carlos-tevez\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Man United star Rafael RIPS into Carlos Tevez"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Former Man United star Rafael RIPS into Carlos Tevez and claims his old team-mate &#8216;picked on&#8217; youngsters&#8217; while at the club&#8230; as he reopens feud that culminated in infamous derby bust-up<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rafael has pulled no punches when it comes to his thoughts on Carlos Tevez\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The pair clashed at the Etihad Stadium during a Manchester Derby in 2010\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Big debates on Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal on It&#8217;s All Kicking Off podcast<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rafael da Silva has reignited his feud with Carlos Tevez, claiming he has &#8216;never been a fan of his&#8217; because he would &#8216;pick on&#8217; youngsters while at Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>Sir Alex Ferguson recruited Tevez in 2007 from West Ham as he looked to bolster his attacking options, adding to Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The fruits of that move led to a Premier League title and Champions League success in the Argentine&#8217;s first season &#8211; but it is safe to say Rafael never saw eye-to-eye with the volatile striker.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;m not a fan of Tevez, not as a player,&#8217; the Brazilian told Sportv.\u00a0&#8216;I&#8217;ve already had a fight with him. The game against City, he&#8217;d left United. I&#8217;ve never been a fan of his because Tevez liked to rubbish new players.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;m not ashamed to say, I don&#8217;t like him. He did a lot to young players. He treated the youngsters badly at United.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/13\/77320987-12702539-s-m-44_1698932940372.jpg\" height=\"537\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/13\/77320989-12702539-image-a-41_1698932882185.jpg\" height=\"537\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Rafael has taken a shot at former team-mate and rival Carlos Tevez in a brand new interview<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/13\/77321433-12702539-image-a-46_1698933580138.jpg\" height=\"561\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rafael has claimed Tevez (right) &#8216;picked on&#8217; young players while he was at Manchester United<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He was always very respectful, but he really picked on the youngsters there, so I never liked him.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tevez enjoyed great success at United, winning a second league title in his second season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And while they only spent a year together in the first team, Rafael felt he had a score to settle when Tevez, who left for rivals Man City in 2009, came up against him as an opponent in 2010.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During one particularly feisty Manchester Derby, Rafael squared up to Tevez and they had to be separated by referee Chris Foy.<\/p>\n<p>It was one of the big talking points from a dismal 0-0 draw and while Rafael looked to play it down at the time, he had no issue bringing it back up now.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/02\/13\/77320985-12702539-image-a-42_1698932891251.jpg\" height=\"648\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The pair had to be separated by referee Chris Foy following their heated head-to-head clash<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He left United for City.
