Nathan Jones\u00a0is emerging as a leading contender to become the next manager of Millwall.<\/p>\n
The 50-year old is ready to return to management nine months after being sacked by Southampton where he achieved just one win in eight Premier League games.<\/p>\n
Millwall have been considering a number of candidates, including Kevin Muscat, but Jones’s track record of earning promotion from the Championship has put him in a strong position.<\/p>\n
Former Birmingham\u00a0City manager John Eustace was another in the frame but he is a leading candidate to replace Nigel Pearson at Bristol City.<\/p>\n
Eustace was sacked by Birmingham and replaced by Wayne Rooney.<\/p>\n

Jones\u00a0replaced Ralph Hasenhuttl at St Mary’s last November, but was relieved of his duties after just 94 days in charge.<\/p>\n
He left Saints at the bottom of the Premier League and they were relegated in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Millwall are currently 18th in the Championship having won one of their last five matches but are only six points off the play-off places.<\/p>\n
