Ngannou, 37, had grown up in the\u00a0Cameroonian village of Batie, where he was raised by a single mother.<\/p>\n<p>He was forced to walk six miles to go to school every day and was digging sand mines when he was just 10-years-old.<\/p>\n<p>As he got older he made the journey from Cameroon to the north of the continent &#8211; travelling through Nigeria, Niger and Algeria before reaching Morocco.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou eventually settled in Paris, where he met the trainer\u00a0Fernand Lopez, who would convince him to take up MMA instead of boxing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For me I just started in MMA for fun. I had time to train so I thought why not train MMA as well,&#8217;\u00a0Ngannou reflected earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And then things went very fast and they start asking did I want to fight. The Predator won\u00a0three of his next four fights in under a minute,\u00a0including a victory after just 20 seconds against\u00a0Jairzinho Rozenstruik in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou would then avenge his defeat against\u00a0Miocic in 2020, earning a knockout win after 52 seconds to claim the heavyweight title.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old took the decision to leave the UFC in January 2022 after defending his title against\u00a0Ciryl Gane.<\/p>\n<p>His UFC career ended with a record of 17 wins and three losses, including 12 knockouts. Ngannou has since signed with\u00a0MMA promotion PFL, who have allowed him the chance to test his arm in the boxing world.<\/p>\n<p><span>Career earnings<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fury&#8217;s earnings from his career are believed to dwarf those of Ngannou, with reports claiming the heavyweight may be worth as much as \u00a3130million.<\/p>\n<p>His career earnings are believed to have largely come from the trilogy with Wilder. Fury has claimed his opponent will earn in the region of \u00a38m for their bout.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The Predator&#8217; cashed in just shy of \u00a34m during the course of a 14-fight stint with the MMA giants.<\/p>\n<p>In Ngannou&#8217;s biggest-ever fight against Gane last year, he pocketed just \u00a3600,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He turned down a reported \u00a36m-a-fight offer from the UFC to remain with the promotion, with the deal claimed to be the most lucrative in the promotion&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>The MMA star instead opted to walk away and\u00a0\u00a0sign a flexible deal with the Professional Fighters League, even though he insisted that decision was down to &#8216;freedom not money&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou admitted the purse he will earn from facing Fury will be life changing to his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It [the money from the Fury bout] means a lot to me. It&#8217;s a lot to process, looking at where I started to where I am today. Where we are today in regards to my family too. It really does mean a lot to me and my biggest joy is to look at my family,&#8217;\u00a0Ngannou told Mail Sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think about how we are secure, how we don&#8217;t have to worry at that terrible stuff anymore. We don&#8217;t have to worry about what to eat, we don&#8217;t have to worry about the clothes on our back, we don&#8217;t have to worry about the shoes on our feet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We don&#8217;t have to worry about if a family member gets sick [and paying for health care]. We have security now and that&#8217;s something we had been worried about our entire lives.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/27\/11\/75586317-12675075-Ngannou_returned_to_his_childhood_home_after_winning_the_UFC_hea-a-20_1698403383818.jpg\" height=\"428\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ngannou returned to his childhood home after winning the UFC heavyweight title\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/27\/11\/75575381-12675075-Ngannou_says_it_gives_him_such_pleasure_being_able_to_look_after-a-22_1698403393336.jpg\" height=\"467\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ngannou says his fight with Fury will help give security to his\u00a0 family (pictured above)<\/p>\n<p><span>Physique<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Much has been made of the differing physique&#8217;s of the two fighters before their bout.<\/p>\n<p>Fury has always joked about his weight, and recently opened up to Mail Sport about his &#8216;love handles&#8217;, but he looked particularly out of shape when he joined Ngannou on stage for their first press conference in early September.<\/p>\n<p>He displayed a more muscular physique this week, with Fury claiming he has been &#8216;living like a monk&#8217; in recent weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou has claimed Fury has tried to &#8216;trick&#8217; people by calling himself &#8216;a fat pig&#8217; and pointing at his love handles in the build-up to the fight.<\/p>\n<p>The Gypsy King typically weighs in at 263lbs (18.7 stone), while Ngannou expects to be 270lbs (19.3 stone) for the fight.<\/p>\n<p>The Cameroonian, who has displayed his ripped physique, will have a height disadvantage in the ring. So all that stuff, has helped me mentally already.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tyson Fury has claimed it is &#8216;surreal&#8217; to be facing a fighter coached by Mike Tyson, having been named in honour of the boxing legend. Fury has, however, claimed it will not make a difference who is in\u00a0Ngannou&#8217;s corner.<\/p>\n<p>Promoter Bob Arum has warned that Fury needs to be careful following Tyson&#8217;s influence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Mike Tyson is doing a great job training and advising Francis Ngannou,&#8217; Arum posted on X. &#8216;I&#8217;ve cautioned Tyson Fury to be very careful, particularly of Ngannou&#8217;s incredible right hand.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Fury remains coached by\u00a0SugarHill Steward, who joined his camp in 2019 and oversaw his preparations for a trilogy of fights with\u00a0Deontay Wilder.<\/p>\n<p>The pair exchanged in a dance battle during a workout in Riyadh earlier this week, as Fury put on a show in the build-up to the showdown.<\/p>\n<p>SugarHill then put Fury through his paces with drills leaving the heavyweight world champion leaving the ring dripping in sweat.<\/p>\n<p><span>Lifestyle<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fury is well-known for his relationship with Paris, with the childhood\u00a0sweethearts and marrying when they were 21 and 19 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The couple welcomed their seventh child on September, who they named Prince Rico Paris Fury.<\/p>\n<p>Paris revealed that Tyson had narrowly missed the birth due to his training camp.<\/p>\n<p>The couple are also parents to Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.<\/p>\n<p>Paris has insisted relationships are all about the &#8216;give and take&#8217; as she explained how Tyson will take over childcare after the fight.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8216;He&#8217;s in training for a fight at the moment so I am at home with the kids but when he comes back he takes over.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Relationships are never 50\/50 sometimes they&#8217;re 60\/40.
