Copenhagen have trolled Manchester United defender Harry Maguire after the Red Devils won 1-0 in the Champions League last night.

Thanks to a powerful second-half header from the England international, United were granted their first win of the group stage.

A vital penalty save by Andre Onana in what was the final kick of the game also helped to get things back on track for the Manchester club.

But it appears Copenhagen – who now sit bottom of their Champions League group below United, Galatasaray and Bayern Munich – were far from pleased with the former Hull and Leicester defender.

After a Champions League Instagram account posted a photo of the centre-half with the caption ‘massive’, the reigning Danish league champions replied by saying: ‘Not really.’

Several fans replied with laughing faces to the club’s comment asking ‘what?’, while some joked that the Copenhagen social media account should ‘cry more’.

Following his side’s win, Maguire told reporters that his redemption was ‘meant to be’ as Old Trafford paid tribute to the late Sir Bobby Charlton.

‘It was meant to be,’ he said. ‘We were meant to win the game. A magnificent save and a win dedicated to Sir Bobby and his family.

‘It’s been a tough week for us, losing someone like Sir Bobby. It affects the club and the dressing-room. But we’re really pleased we could get the win.’

Maguire has been booed by both United and England fans on occasions, but supporters were singing his name at the end.

‘It’s amazing,’ he added. ‘When you are not on your game it gets picked up, but I am really proud how I have acted over this six to 12 months.

‘I have been given an opportunity and I want to help the team and get the club back to where it should be.’
