{"id":296810,"date":"2023-10-22T23:24:12","date_gmt":"2023-10-22T23:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=296810"},"modified":"2023-10-22T23:24:12","modified_gmt":"2023-10-22T23:24:12","slug":"andy-carroll-scores-incredible-long-range-effort-from-inside-own-half","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/andy-carroll-scores-incredible-long-range-effort-from-inside-own-half\/","title":{"rendered":"Andy Carroll scores incredible long range effort from inside own half"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Andy Carroll lobs the goalkeeper with incredible 40-yard effort to make it back-to-back goals in as many games for Ligue 2 side Amiens SC<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Andy Carroll moved to French side Amiens SC from Reading in the summer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The former England striker has recently told Mailsport he is loving his new life\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Coming Up!&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Former England international Andy Carroll scored a stunning 40-yard effort for French side Amiens SC in their 1-1 draw with Annecy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carroll has quickly settled in northern France, and recently spoke exclusively to Mail Sport about his new life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Geordie striker had a respectable career in England, most notably plying his trade for boyhood club Newcastle United and Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>The 34-year-old recently spoke about his struggles after a \u00a335m move to Merseyside from the Magpies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However Carroll is by no means struggling at Amiens, scoring a spectacular second goal in as many games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/22\/17\/76863163-12659257-image-a-1_1697990429836.jpg\" height=\"266\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Andy Carroll smashed in an incredible long range effort in his side&#8217;s 1-1 draw with Annecy<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/22\/17\/76863159-12659257-image-a-2_1697990438180.jpg\" height=\"264\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Carroll has settled well in France after completing a move on a free transfer in the summer<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/22\/17\/76863183-12659257-image-a-3_1697990642025.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The big Geordie striker plays as a traditional English centre forward, and wears the number 99<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>The former England striker pounced on a loose ball just outside the centre circle before letting fly a high, looping effort that beat\u00a0Annecy goalkeeper Florian Escales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carroll opened his Ligue 2 account in the previous game with a goal in Amiens&#8217; 4-1 loss to high-flying Angers, who currently sit second in the table.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Back-to-back efforts,\u00a0something Carroll hasn&#8217;t done since December 2022 when playing for Reading, saw the striker celebrate ecstatically in front of the Amiens fans, showing off his unusal shirt number 99.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now with two goals in his first eight appearances Carroll, will be looking to capitalise on his good form and move Amiens up from 10th in the league.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about his move before the game Carroll said: &#8216;Here, I can take my children to the zoo and they don&#8217;t have to say, &#8216;come on dad!&#8217; while people ask for photos or autographs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;In Amiens, I can walk into a bakery and buy a pain au chocolat without anyone saying &#8216;How was the match?
