Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has given Sir Jim Ratcliffe a sparkling commendation ahead of his confirmation as minority owner of Manchester United. <\/p>\n
The Austrian billionaire, who has worked with Ratcliffe since the Englishman's INEOS group became principal partners of Mercedes' F1 team in 2020, insists he'll be a real asset to United and will "cut out all the bulls***". Speaking ahead of the US Grand Prix this weekend, Wolff told reporters: "Jim and his partners [run] a no bulls*** organisation.<\/p>\n
"They are huge in terms of revenue and profit and decisions are made quickly. With Jim, all the bulls*** is cut out, so I think wherever he gets his power and his resources and all his character behind it that's going to be an add-on for any team."<\/p>\n

Ratcliffe, who is Britain's richest man, is waiting for his \u00a31.4billion bid to control a 25% stake in United to be confirmed. It's understood negotiations are in the final stages and the deal is expected to be announced within the next week or two.<\/p>\n
The 70-year-old is a boyhood Red Devils fan and Wolff reckons the emotional investment his already has in the club will give him extra motivation. "He's a Manchester boy, he has the resources that are need and his heart is in the right place for this team," Wolff added.<\/p>\n

"I'm sure he can very creative for Manchester United. With us he's been a fantastic shareholder and a good sounding board and sparring partner for myself."<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe has made it clear to United's owners, the Glazers, that he wants to control all footballing operations when he comes on board. This would include overseeing players purchases and sales as well as picking the team's manager.<\/p>\n
