Trent Alexander-Arnold had a serious scare while driving on Friday as a 40ft electricity pylon crashed onto a car in front of the Liverpool star’s Range Rover when he was out driving in 70mph winds, as reported by the Sun.

The 25-year-old was out driving on a wet rural road near Knutsford, Cheshire when he had to swerve to avoid the high-voltage power unit and collided with a BMW X5 in doing so.

It was a near-miss for Alexander-Arnold as the electrical pylon lay scrapped on the road’s banking, with the huge infrastructure capable of inflicting serious damage if it had fallen on the footballer’s luxury vehicle.

The power line, that weighs half a ton, careered down on top of the other vehicle at the scene with Alexander-Arnold and the BMW driver fortunately escaping the incident unhurt.

However, the England international was reportedly shaken by incident with a witness explaining it was a shock nobody had been killed in the startling countryside accident caused by the devastating Storm Babet sweeping across the nation.

Alexander-Arnold got out of his Range Rover after slamming into the side of the BMW and checked on the other road user to make sure they were ok.

His vehicle was still seriously damaged by the accident with the £90,000 black Range Rover smashed and missing pieces of its front-left bumper, while the headlight was also broken.

Electrical wires from inside the vehicle’s bonnet are visible through remnants of the destroyed bumper with parts of the car shown to be barely hanging on as a result of the impact.

Meanwhile, the white BMW is missing a headlight that is strewn across the middle of the road with the front-left wheel sitting on its rim and a huge crack in the side of the bodywork visible.

Police were called to the scene during the morning hours on Friday and the electrical supply running through the huge pylon was turned off.

Alexander-Arnold was later involved in team training with Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash against Everton at Anfield where he is expected to start.
