Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reignited Wrexham’s feud with\u00a0Billy Sharp,\u00a0following his outburst after Sheffield United’s\u00a0FA Cup\u00a0win in February.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The then-Blades skipper savaged\u00a0Wrexham’s players and told them to ‘shove that on your documentary’ in a tunnel spat that followed a\u00a03-1 win.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sharp was furious with the ‘disrepect’ shown by the then-National League outfit, accusing some players\u00a0of taunting in the lead-up to the game and taking issue with a tweet posted by Wrexham’s official Twitter account which tagged potential fifth-round opponenets Tottenham.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the second season of Disney+ show,\u00a0Welcome to Wrexham<\/span>, the co-chairman finally had their say on the infamous row, delighting in ‘owning’ Sharp.<\/p>\n ‘It was really interesting. It was psychology 1 on 1,’ Reynolds said. ‘It was like “oh we own <\/span>you right now”. You’re a Championship team, and second place in the Championship, you guys are amazing.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney\u00a0delighted in mind games that saw them ‘own’ the striker<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sharp looked to goad the away fans at the end as he gestured tears towards the 4,700 fans<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sharp was angry at a tweet by Wrexham which tagged Tottenham prior to Febraury’s replay<\/p>\n Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n ‘And this guy we just got under his skin. It was so, so wonderful to see that we got under that guy’s skin the way he did.’<\/p>\n ‘We were living rent free in that motherfucker’s brain,’\u00a0McElhenney added, struggling to contain his laughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sharp followed his rant in the tunnel with a fiery post-match interview where he detailed his list of grievances against Wrexham and their players.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘I wasn’t happy with the way they’ve been as a club before the game,’ he\u00a0told\u00a0ITV Sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘Eyeing up Spurs. They’ve not even beaten us.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson felt Sharp disrespected his club with his post-match antics<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wrexham striker Paul Mullin (middle) and Parkinson (right) confronted Sharp (left) on the pitch<\/p>\n ‘We’re an honest set of lads and we want to go as far as we can in this competition. If we get beaten in the next round, so be it. We’ll give it a right go.<\/p>\n ‘I think they thought we were just going to roll over when we get back in it.
