Tottenham centre back Eric Dier could make a sensational return to Sporting Lisbon, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dier has been frozen out this season at Spurs since new manager Ange Postecoglou joined the club.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His contract in North London will expire in the summer, and it is looking increasingly unlikely he will be offered a new one considering Postecoglou’s initial success.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now, according to the Times, the 29-year-old has been tipped to make an emotional return to his former club Sporting Lisbon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Dier has been frozen out by Tottenham’s Australian manager Ange Postecoglou this year<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Dier, who can play midfield or defence, started his career at Sporting and can speak Portugese<\/p>\n

The Portugese club took on Dier at aged seven when his parents relocated to the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The versatile defender went on to make 31 senior appearances for the club before making the \u00a34m move to the Lilywhites in 2014\u00a0<\/p>\n
The England international has since made 360 appearances for Tottenham and chipped in 13 goals.<\/p>\n
He also has 49 England caps and made the Three Lions squad for the Qatar World Cup last year.<\/p>\n
At the end of the summer transfer window Dier was offered to Bayern Munich while reports in Italy have claimed that AS Roma’s Jos\u00e9 Mourinho has continued to be an admirer from afar.\u00a0<\/p>\n
