{"id":295714,"date":"2023-10-09T20:24:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T20:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=295714"},"modified":"2023-10-09T20:24:21","modified_gmt":"2023-10-09T20:24:21","slug":"romelu-lukaku-is-set-to-join-roma-on-a-permanent-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/romelu-lukaku-is-set-to-join-roma-on-a-permanent-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Romelu Lukaku is set to &apos;join Roma on a permanent deal&apos;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>REVEALED: Romelu Lukaku&#8217;s Chelsea exit fee with Roma looking likely to pay up to make his successful loan move permanent and end Belgian&#8217;s Stamford Bridge nightmare<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Belgian has made a sensational start to life at Roma after loan move<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chelsea have set an exit fee for Lukaku so he can leave the club next summer<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Roma will have to pay Chelsea \u00a337million to sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal next summer.<\/p>\n<p>Lukaku has made a superb start to his career at the Serie &#8216;A&#8217; side following his loan move from the Blues in the summer, scoring seven goals in his first eight appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Mourinho&#8217;s Roma could look to sign the 30-year-old and know the price they have to pay.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea inserted a \u00a337m release clause into his contract when they negotiated his \u00a35m loan switch to Roma, and the Stamford Bridge club will honour that fee next summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Blues had been intent on selling Lukaku this summer, until the Belgian turned down a move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, effectively sabotaged a switch to Inter Milan and then decided he did not want to join Juventus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76349821-12611793-image-a-1_1696877101237.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Romelu Lukaku (left) could join Roma on a permanent deal at the end of the season<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/09\/19\/76349817-12611793-image-a-2_1696877103874.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea have set a \u00a337m exit price on Lukaku two-years after he returned to Stamford Bridge<\/p>\n<p>Inter had offered \u00a323m and \u00a326m before pulling out after discovering that Lukaku had been talking to Juventus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is feasible Roma will face competition for Lukaku&#8217;s signature despite the \u00a337m clause, a fee which is more than \u00a360m less than Chelsea paid for the Belgian two two years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roma have recovered from a difficult start to the season, winning their last three games in all competitions, demonstrating an upturn in form largely led by Lukaku&#8217;s goalscoring.<\/p>\n<p>Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge in a \u00a398m transfer from Inter Milan two years ago when it was expected he would help lead the club to future glories under then-manager Thomas Tuchel.<\/p>\n<p>He had just enjoyed a terrific season at Inter where the Milan-based side won the Scudetto.<\/p>\n<p>However, any joy first gained upon sealing his signature was short-lived as the Belgian failed to live up to expectations and was quickly relegated to the bench.<\/p>\n<p>His career with the Blues appeared to be all-but over when he expressed his unhappiness in an interview that was viewed by Chelsea as being disrespectful.<\/p>\n<p>Roma supporters have adored Lukaku since he completed his summer move to the Italian capital with thousands of fans arriving at the airport to give him a hero&#8217;s welcome.
