Conor McGregor scored the lowest number possible on a punch machine after racking up a score of just one in a hilarious moment caught on camera.

The Notorious missed out on the chance to showcase his devastating power when he lined up his signature left hand with Hard Hitterz UK’s Instagram punch bag.

The company had set up one of their machines in Dublin ahead of Bellator 299 and allowed members of the public to chance their arm and attempt to set the top score.

However, McGregor was only able to register a bottom-of-the-barrel score despite landing his fist flush on the bag, leading him to claim he had broken the game.

‘Breaking the thing twice, number one, baby. All smashed up, yeah!’ he said.

Luckily for the MMA superstar, his poor attempt wasn’t his only crack at the machine.

Indeed, earlier in the night McGregor hit a score of 858 with his left fist.

That effort proved to be better than McGregor’s old UFC rival Dustin Poirier, who recorded 847 on the same bag, while welterweight Leon Edwards scored 843.

McGregor is set to make his long-awaited comeback to the octagon next year after lodging his paperwork to re-enter the USADA testing pool.

The 35-year-old has not fought since July 2021, when he suffered defeat by Dustin Poirier and agonisingly broke his leg during their bout at UFC 264.

But he has been back sparring and training for several months and also taken part in coaching for a series of The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler.

Over two years since his last fight, McGregor is now taking steps to re-enter the Octagon

He has been out of the testing pool since late 2021 and must complete six months of random drug testing before being cleared to fight.

On Sunday night, McGregor took to X to post: ‘I’m back in the pool. Will be doing my stint at high elevation before the bout.’

His next match-up will most likely come against Chandler, with rival TUF coaches typically facing off against each other at the end of the show.

UFC CEO Dana White also confirmed McGregor’s paperwork has been submitted.

‘No, he is not officially in the USADA pool. He has submitted the paperwork so probably by Monday he will be submitted,’ White said.

‘Again, don’t hold me to that but the paperwork is submitted so next week sometime.’
