Rapper 50 Cent has become the sponsor of AFC Rumney's U14s girls side after a cheeky parent asked if he wanted to sponsor the side.<\/p>\n

The under-14s team based in Cardiff will have his name and his hip-hop collaborators G-Unit now emblazoned on their away kit – with the girls "buzzing". Manager Richie Brown explained to the BBC that one of the parents had been working with the rapper on a recent tour.<\/p>\n

And other parents had joked he should ask for sponsorship. Brown told the BBC: "He said he would ask the question – worst case scenario was [50 Cent] would have just said no. Thankfully he didn't, he agreed to it!<\/p>\n

"He sponsored our away kit first of all, and then we were a little bit cheeky. We asked for a little bit more, and he sponsored us again for our tracksuits."<\/p>\n

Brown added: "We're going to get a few photos taken and sent over to him, then hopefully he can give us a good luck video or something to acknowledge it all. We're massively appreciative of everything he's doing for us right now. We love the support."<\/p>\n

"Not saying I'm not here for it but I'm just confused as to why," one fan joked. While a second added: "I really need to understand how these celebs find these clubs & decide to sponsor then!"<\/p>\n

"So random… but great too," a third said. And another added: "I like the 50 cent songs but what does he know about soccer…"<\/p>\n

50 Cent isn't the first North American superstar to invest in a Welsh sports club either. He follows Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds and Ryan McElhenney, who famously own League Two side Wrexham. <\/p>\n
