A huge 30 man brawl erupted between Wales and Georgia players as their Rugby World Cup match got nasty.

Warren Gatland's side needed a strong victory to ensure they got themselves out of a competitive Pool C with plenty of momentum. They managed to get just that as three tries from Louis Rees-Zammit alongside tries from George North, Tomas Francis and Liam Williams helped secure a 43-19 score.

However, the biggest moment of the contest came in the final ten minutes when an almighty brawl broke out. Considering the sheer size and mass behind each player, it was a terrifying brawl for those who do not like violence.

Taine Basham was introduced as a late substitute into the contest by Gatland. He was brought on in the 62nd minute for Aaron Wainwright.

But the 23-year-old's game was over before it even started as he caused a huge fracas barely ten minutes after he came on. One of his first contributions was to hit Georgian winger Davit Niniashvili with a high and hard tackle.

While the challenge would have taken anybody's breath away, Niniashvili immediately retaliated and got into Basham's face. In the same way Pavlov's dog salivated upon the ring of a bell, everybody on the pitch and many more on the sidelines erupted and started grabbing opposition shirts.

The officials watched on like zookeepers witnessing a mass Gorilla fight as each player looked to make their mark on their opponent. Georgian substitute Tamar Tapladze even took it upon himself to start kneeing any man wearing a red shirt in the back of the leg.

When the trouble de-escalated. the officials placed Basham and Niniashvili into the sin bin, thus ending their respective matches. Perhaps with their noses out of joint, Wales responded by crushing any hopes of a Georgian comeback, as Rees-Zammit completed his hat-trick.

"It's a massive result after a long pre-season and all the hard work, the players have prepared so well for this campaign," Wales centre North said after the game. "It was a hard game but we've ended well and look forward to the quarter-finals now."
