{"id":295177,"date":"2023-10-05T10:24:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T10:24:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/?p=295177"},"modified":"2023-10-05T10:24:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-05T10:24:38","slug":"chelsea-may-recall-andrey-santos-from-loan-at-nottingham-forest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstons.com\/soccer\/chelsea-may-recall-andrey-santos-from-loan-at-nottingham-forest\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea may &apos;RECALL&apos; Andrey Santos from loan at Nottingham Forest"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Chelsea &#8216;are considering RECALLING Andrey Santos from loan at Nottingham Forest in January&#8217; &#8211; just months after arriving at the City Ground&#8230; with his only start coming in Carabao Cup loss to Burnley<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The 19-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea in Jan for \u00a318m before being loaned<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span>Chelsea beat the likes of Manchester City and Newcastle to sign the &#8216;wonderkid&#8217;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Chelsea are considering recalling Andrey Santos from his loan at Nottingham Forest in January just over a month after he arrived at the club.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old midfielder is still waiting to make his Premier League debut having appeared just once in a Carabao Cup defeat against Burnley on August 30.<\/p>\n<p>He was not even a part of Steve Cooper&#8217;s matchday squad against Manchester City on September 23.<\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian, who joined the Blues from\u00a0Vasco da Gama, was in excellent form in pre-season but Chelsea are overloaded with expensive midfielders.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His lack of playing time has certainly frustrated Chelsea fans who were excited to see the young talent develop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/10\/76197543-12597039-image-a-22_1696498034280.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea are considering recalling Andrey Santos from his loan at Nottingham Forest just over a month after he arrived at the club<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/10\/76197271-12597039-image-a-14_1696497516927.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian international is yet to make his Premier League debut for Forest after Steve Cooper left him out of his matchday squad against Manchester City on September 23<\/p>\n<p>Now, there are calls for Chelsea to recall him in January by activating a break clause in the loan agreement, according\u00a0 to The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>Forest are also said to incur mutually-agreed financial penalties for not playing Santos when he is fit.<\/p>\n<p>Santos was signed in a \u00a318million deal in January but did not meet the work permit criteria at the time and returned to his former club on loan.<\/p>\n<p>After seeing out the remainder of the season in Brazil, Santos has since returned to west London and continued training with the Blues ahead of his work permit application.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old was seen as a wonderkid in his homeland of Brazil before the Blues beat Manchester City and Newcastle to his signature.<\/p>\n<p>Santos has already proved he has experience beyond his years after making his debut for the Brazilian national team in March this year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/10\/76196705-12597039-image-a-12_1696497444508.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea&#8217;s midfield is currently stacked with expensive players following the British record fee \u00a3115m signing of Moises Caceido\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/10\/76196707-12597039-image-a-13_1696497478659.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder wowed in pre-season for the Blues to the delight of fans<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on his time so far with the Brazil senior squad, the central midfielder said: &#8216;It is an incredible experience. A dream come true, I&#8217;m very happy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I feel at home, they welcomed me very well. Being at Casemiro&#8217;s side, at the side of an idol, is a dream for me.
