Welcome back to the Soul of Sport. For our latest episode of the series, KEVIN QUIGLEY has taken a closer look inside England’s World Cup training base.<\/p>\n
Steve Borthwick’s side coasted through to the quarter-finals with a match to spare, a stark contrast to their nightmare warm-up campaign, after Japan beat Samoa.<\/p>\n
They will next take on the runners-up in Pool C, likely to be Fiji, though Wales are also a potential opponent.<\/p>\n
Once again surrounded by the peace and quiet offered by Le Touquet, their HQ in France, work will have already begun as they bid to reach the final four.<\/p>\n
Our man has been on the ground to capture the best moments, as well as the town’s picturesque surroundings.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

England are training for their next Rugby World Cup clash in Le Touquet, home of a casino that has inspired James Bond films<\/p>\n

Nestled away behind thick trees, Steve Borthwick’s squad’s preparations are continuing away from prying eyes in the town<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Head coach Borthwick is at the centre of every session and will hope to lead his side to jaw-dropping glory this month<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Heavy security is located on site and high fences encompass the pitches, blocking off training and keeping plans a secret<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Large red roses have been dotted around the side’s state-of-the-art headquarters, paying tribute to their infamous nickname<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
President Macron’s luxurious holiday home in the resort is located just a five-minute walk away from the England camp<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Journalists frequently gather to question the players and coaching staff, extracting invaluable insight in the lead-up to games<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Le Touquet’s main roundabout features a large sign welcoming England’s squad and also shirts for each individual player<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The town has fully embraced the thrills and spills of the tournament, with banners adorning the top of busy shopping streets<\/p>\n

A roof top inside the camp has snipers in position, seemingly watching out for drones that may spill tactics to opponents<\/p>\n

Westminster Hotel is also a short walk from the training ground and once played host to James Bond author, Ian Fleming<\/p>\n

The facilities on offer at Le Touquet have allowed Borthwick to embrace a varied training schedule for his challengers<\/p>\n
