Mauricio Pochettino\u00a0revealed he has received \u2018bad news\u2019 about Ben Chilwell\u2019s hamstring injury from Chelsea\u2019s doctors as he awaits confirmation of exactly how long his vice-captain will be sidelined.<\/p>\n
Left-back Chilwell joined Chelsea\u2019s injury list when he was forced off towards the end of Wednesday\u2019s Carabao Cup win against Brighton.<\/p>\n
Initial assessments have taken place and Pochettino said: \u2018I think it is bad news from what the doctor told me.<\/p>\n
\u2018It is not a good thing. It looks a bad injury but we need to assess in the next few days and we will see the period he will be out.<\/p>\n
\u2018The mechanism was bad, in the last minute of the game. We are really sad about the news about Ben.<\/p>\n

Ben Chilwell will reportedly be unavailable for a month after he suffered an injury in Chelsea’s win over Brighton in the EFL Cup<\/p>\n

Chilwell joins the likes of\u00a0Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Reece James on the club’s injury list<\/p>\n
\u2018It is difficult to know now it is less than two days and we need to assess in the next few days.\u2019<\/p>\n
In addition to Chilwell, the club also have several other top stars on their injury list including Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and captain Reece James.<\/p>\n
However, Pochettino will be buoyed by the news that\u00a0Carney Chukwuemeka has returned to full training with the first team, more than a month after being sidelined after picking up a knee injury in the club’s defeat to West Ham.<\/p>\n
