Mike Tyson has responded to Tyson Fury admitting that he was disappointed with his decision to be in the corner of Francis Ngannou ahead of their mega-fight.

Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, will go head to head against the former UFC heavyweight champion on October 24 in a bout dubbed: 'Battle of the Baddest'. While it will be Ngannou's first-ever professional boxing fight, he has the advantage of having the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' in his corner as Mike Tyson is coaching the Cameroonian.

Tyson is sharing coaching duties with Dewey Cooper as they prepare the 37-year-old for his boxing debut against the best of his generation in Fury, who was actually named after the New York native. Fury's father, John, has long admitted his admiration for Tyson and even got to embrace him as the pair met during a recent podcast appearance.

While Tyson has publicly backed Ngannou for victory, Fury admitted that "it's sad" that his father's hero is rooting for the other side and stated he thinks Tyson should be in his corner rather than his opponent's. "I think that it's sad, actually. The man that I am named after, a legend, has to go against me and then come out as a loser, having lost to a man who was named after him," he said to Sky Sports.

Tyson responded as he told TNT Sports: "This is business, and he understands". Fury echoed his words and insisted he understands that it's business but his tutelage won't help Ngannou in the ring.
