Despite going ahead in the game twice, Arsenal could not hold out to secure the three points against Tottenham in Sunday’s North London Derby with fans taking to social media to call Jorginho a ‘total liability’ and a ‘pensioner’ after the match.<\/p>\n
It was an enthralling game of football with, Christian Romero deflecting Bukayo Saka’s shot into his own net, putting Arsenal 1-0 up after 26 minutes.<\/p>\n
Son Heung-Min cancelled that goal out after a brilliant piece of play from James Maddison weaving his way around the Arsenal defenders to pull a pass back from the byline, which Son blasted in to level the scores.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Arteta’s side would restore their lead again with Saka scoring from the spot, but Tottenham, less than a minute later, equalised to make it 2-2.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It came as Ange Postecoglou’s side delivered an instant reaction after Christian Romero handled the ball inside the area to concede the penalty.<\/p>\n

Yet some took to Twitter, formerly X, after the match to criticise Jorginho after the game, with fans calling the 31-year-old a\u00a0‘liability’ and a ‘disaster’ during the match.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The former Chelsea star, who signed for the club in January for \u00a312million, had come on for Declan Rice in the 46th minute after he was substituted with a back injury, according to the Arsenal boss.\u00a0<\/p>\n One user wrote:’\u00a0\u00a0‘Just don’t trust Jorginho in these physical games. Unless Rice is injured that sub was so idiotic.’\u00a0<\/p>\n Another said: ‘Jorginho playing like a pensioner…’<\/p>\n ‘Jorginho. Wow. Especially the moment when we conceded the goals. We could have scored 2-0 in the situation with Gabi.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘We lacked some composure on the ball to get into the final third,’ he added.<\/p>\n Speaking on Jorginho’s error that cost the Gunners the win, the Arsenal boss was sympathetic to his Italian midfiedler, claiming that ‘mistakes are a part of the game’.<\/p>\n ‘What happened is I love him [Jorginho] and we love him. Errors are part of football. They\u2019re allowed to make errors because they are players,’ Arteta said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
