Ricciardo has the team\u2019s full backing for 2024, though, and Eddolls says they will not accelerate his return.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/22\/15\/75733659-12549931-image-a-1_1695394544113.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Daniel Ricciardo won&#8217;t be rushed back onto the grid by AlphaTauri as he continues to recover from a broken wrist<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/22\/15\/75733661-12549931-image-a-2_1695394553554.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Liam Lawson will continue to deputise for Ricciardo and was involved in opening practice sessions ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Well, we all saw him in Singapore,\u2019 he said. \u2018He\u2019s still going through that recovery phase. I would say we\u2019re still talking a while away, so I wouldn\u2019t want to put a target on it. The recovery is going well.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019ve got some simulator work planned before a return. I think from our side and his side there\u2019s no rush to get him back too early. The worst thing would be to come back before it\u2019s properly healed and cause any issues.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/22\/15\/75733663-12549931-image-a-3_1695394557454.jpg\" height=\"419\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Calls have been growing for Lawson to be given a main seat in the team next year<\/p>\n<p>He added that Ricciardo\u2019s simulator sessions will serve as a fitness test for the former Red Bull man.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He\u2019ll jump in, the simulator is a very good representation of the car, all of the loads, Eddolls said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think the final decision is more than likely going to come from him rather than from us. He will know better than anyone, how\u2019s the pain, how\u2019s the recovery, so as I said, we\u2019re not putting him under pressure to come back.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019ve got a pool of three good drivers at the moment, so there\u2019s no big rush.
