Owen Hargreaves was left stunned as Man United Andre Onana gifted Bayern Munich the opening goal in their Champions League group stage match.<\/p>\n
The Man United goalkeeper allowed Leroy Sane’s weak effort to slip through his grasp in the first half of their tie at the Allianz Arena.<\/p>\n
Onana’s mistake was compounded by Man United conceding again before half-time. United eventually fell to a 4-3 defeat after twice fighting back towards the end of a thrilling contest.<\/p>\n
Former Man United and Bayern Munich midfielder Hargreaves, speaking on TNT Sports, was shocked by Onana’s error for the opening goal.<\/p>\n
‘You just have to save that. I don\u2019t know if he doesn\u2019t get his feet set, but that ball just cannot go in. He knows straight away Onana,’ Hargreaves said.<\/p>\n

Onana was among the high-profile additions at Man United this summer after joining from Inter Milan for \u00a347m.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old signed a five-year contract with the goalkeeper succeeding David de Gea, who left the club at the end of his deal in June.<\/p>\n
‘This is a nightmare scenario for Onana,’ former Man United defender Ferdinand said.<\/p>\n
‘He is as confident as you like with his feet. We look at some of the passes, but as a goalkeeper you are paid to come in there and make saves.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘His reaction afterwards tells you that he should really save this. It is food and drink for him, he should be picking this up and looking for his next pass. ‘<\/p>\n
‘It is a very bad mistake and one he needs to recover from.’<\/p>\n

Fellow pundit Paul Scholes added ‘It is a lapse in concentration and bang, bang, you are suddenly 2-0 down.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘It is a big mistake from him and he needs to recover.’<\/p>\n
Social media users were quick to comment on Onana’s early struggles since joining Man United.<\/p>\n
‘Andre Onana has faced 12 shots on target since the start of the season. He’s conceded nine goals,’ one user wrote.<\/p>\n
